Android Activations Hit 1 Billion = 1 Billion Linux devices

Android has now reached 1 billion devices! That is an amazing milestone, this means that smartphone/tablet wars are over. Android won.

Furthermore this is a resounding victory for Linux, Linux now has overwhelming share of all operating systems....it runs on small embedded devices, smartphones/tablets/watches, it powers big commercial servers, it overwhelmingly powers most cloud computing and it powers almost all Supercomputers in the Top 500 Supercomputers. Linux won.

How can anyone compete again free, good, scalable and excellent software support? I can not see a another operating system overtaking Linux unless that operating system is also based on open source.
