First Intel E5-2600 v2 database benchmarks

First Intel E5-2600 v2 database benchmarks result released and yes the new CPUs are  amazingly fast. Low cost $10K servers now have 24 CPU cores, 24 threads. This type of server is more than sufficient for 95%+ of all database workloads.

On a side note, notice the huge number of SSDs just to move bottleneck to CPUs? Huge IO performance required to keep the CPUs busy.

Expect  vendors to release TPC-C, SPECint_rate2006 and other SPEC benchmarks in upcoming weeks.
