• It takes 3 times as much water to produce the bottle as it does to fill it
• Fossil fuels are also used in the packaging of water. The most commonly used plastic for making water bottles is polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is derived from crude oil
• Fossil fuels and related ommisions from transport of containers of water
• Plastics takes over 300 years to degrade in nature
• Over 80% of bottled water is not recycled and ends up in landfill or worse as litter harming animals
• Bottled water is expensive, tap water is free - buy a water bottle
• No fluride in bottled water
• No safety check by state authorities on bottled water whereas free tap water goes through vigorous safety testing
