DNS over HTTPS (DoH) is a protocol for performing remote Domain Name System (DNS) resolution via the HTTPS protocol. A goal of the method is to increase user privacy and security by preventing eavesdropping and manipulation of DNS data by man-in-the-middle attacks. The DoH standard uses the same port as ordinary HTTPS traffic as such it is extremely difficult to track people's movements.

And for that reason, it is a great tool for privacy: something that internet users that live in authoritarian or tightly controlled countries put significant value on. There are countless examples of the authorities using internet traffic to track dissidents, not all of which end up very happily.
Corporate proxies will be useless to inspect and filter traffic as most data will be encrypted including DNS queries.
